If you have nail fungus on a nail, invest in a second clipper. Otherwise, you should sterilize clippers after using them on an infected nail so the fungus is not spread to others.
Our fingernails do make great tools for so many things. But, the less we use them as tools, the less they will break. Many of us definitely abuse our nails.
Except in emergencies, we can dial a phone with a pen or the eraser end of a pencil, and we should own a screwdriver. Pop-top cans are brutal on nails, but they can be opened with the side of the finger or with a butterknife. Although nails grow back pretty quickly, we sure notice when one is broken off too short for an itch.
